Shimadzu, a global leader in analytical instrumentation, has introduced the UV-1900i Plus UV-Vis Spectrophotometer, the next-generation model of its best-selling UV-1900 series, with over one million instruments sold globally.
Thanks to hardware improvements, the noise level has been reduced by 25%, enabling highly sensitive and reliable detection of trace-level substances. Its optimised optics and next-generation CPU achieve ultra-fast scans up to 29,000 nm/min, while the double-beam optical design with 1 nm resolution ensures precise, reproducible results across a wide concentration range.
The UV-1900i Plus offers six measurement modes in a single system: photometric, spectrum, quantitation, kinetics, time-course, and bio-methods for DNA and protein concentrations—making it a versatile solution for a wide range of applications.
In addition, the UV-1900i Plus introduces assist functions that verify baseline, blank, and auto-zero operations before each run, minimising operational errors. A shutdown/wakeup function powers the system down automatically after use and starts it up before the lab day begins, ensuring it is ready for measurement while saving time and energy.
The instrument’s high-contrast touchscreen interface and expanded software functions—including automatic pass/fail determination, quantitative range checks, and Hazen colour evaluation—make it ideal for regulated environments. Fully compatible with LabSolutions UV, DB, and CS software and compliant with JP, USP, and EP standards, the UV-1900i Plus combines accuracy, usability, and reliability in a compact, robust design.
